A line-interactive UPS provides battery backup during a power failure and adds automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which corrects sustained voltage sags and surges without draining the battery. A single inverter charges the battery while mains power is healthy, then reverses to power the connected load within a few milliseconds when the supply drops. Because AVR handles everyday brownouts and swells directly, the battery is reserved for actual outages, which extends battery service life. Line-interactive UPS systems usually deliver a pure sine wave output and are the most common topology for small business servers, network and storage equipment, point-of-sale systems, and workstations that can tolerate a very short transfer time.
Natural Power Solutions supplies line-interactive UPS systems from APC by Schneider Electric, Eaton, and Socomec, in capacities from 420 VA to 3 kVA and in both tower and rack-mount formats. If your equipment needs complete isolation from all mains disturbances, including frequency variation, see our online double-conversion UPS range.
